Mitski composed the score for the graphic novel, “This Is Where We Fall”. Written by Chris Miskiewicz and Vincent Kings, the sci-fi Western was published by Z2 Comics on May 5th, 2021 along with the synchronous release of the three-song EP. In an interview with The Rolling Stone, Mitski described the process as “exciting”: “It allowed me to work outside of my usual songwriting form and try to approach it like a score, but without any of the cues that come with working alongside a moving image, which ended up being both freeing and challenging.”
