Released in 1972, Matching Mole’s Little Red Record is a landmark in the progressive rock and Canterbury scene.
As the band’s second and final album, it showcases a blend of experimental rock, jazz fusion, and avant-garde influences. Led by Robert Wyatt, formerly of Soft Machine, the album features complex time signatures, improvisational elements and politically charged themes. Produced by King Crimson’s Robert Fripp. The album is being re-released for Record Store Day in a very limited edition including three outtakes, the song Mutter and an etched D-side. The Little Red Record is a limited edition of 750 individually numbered copies on translucent red coloured vinyl.
