An expanded edition of ‘Road to Rouen’, featuring previously unheard live and studio recordings. The album has been fully remastered for 2025. Their fifth studio album was originally released on 15th August 2005. The title references both the French city where it was recorded and the Ramones’ 1978 album ‘Road to Ruin.’ This album marked a more reflective phase for the band, featuring longer, more orchestral compositions.
It garnered critical acclaim, receiving 4 and 5-star reviews from publications like The Guardian, Mojo, and Uncut. The album includes the singles ‘Low C,’ ‘Fin’ and fan favourite ‘St Petersburg’, a captivating and beautiful track with a hint of John Lennon’s influence. Arguably their most personal album, it represented a departure from Supergrass’s signature upbeat sound. This new, mellow, and introspective direction made the entire album a critical success.
